Emily at 31 weeks in 4D

Last week we had the chance to gp get 3D/4D ultrasounds of Emily at 31 weeks. It was such a cool experience. We saw her facial expressions, her smiles, her frowns, her hands and she also showed off her feet and her big toes. Jim and I keep looking at the pictures trying to figure out which features she got from each of us. She has Jim's cheeks for sure which I was hoping for. I cant wait to smooch those chunky cheeks. I think our poor baby has my nose which I was not hoping for. She has full lips and we still dont know where those came from. The nurse said she is definetly a character and a wiggle worm which I already knew. I couldnt decide which picture to post so I figured why not post them all. Enjoy!

Here I grow...

I cant believe that this coming week I will be 24 weeks which means its my last week of my 2nd trimester. It really has gone by fast and I am loving every minute of it (minus the swollen ankles and fingers... oh and the heartburn). I am so in love with this little girl already. I find myself "playing" with her. I woke up the other day and tapped on my baby bump and she kicked right back. I cant help it I just laugh out loud and say "Good Morning Emily". Jim has felt her a few times but he swears that she is already a Mama's girl because lately every time he tries to feel her kick she stops. It's such an awesome experience. On 3/20/2012 it seems like I woke up to a bigger baby bump than ever before or as someone people have said I finally "popped". Jim even notices when I came home that night without me saying anything.
We have been taking pictures of "the bump".

It's a GIRL!!!

Well I know it been a while since I last posted anything but we have had a lot of excitment lately to fill everyone in on.

On February 20, 2012, we found out our baby is a GIRL!!! We are so excited!!! Everyone asks me if Jim is ok with having a baby girl and he is just as excited as I am. After trying for 5 years we did not have a preference. A boy would be great because we would love to pass on the Costello name but a girl would be fun too. There is nothing better than a Daddy's girl.

We also had a Gender Revealing Party for our small group of friends. Everyone was asked to wear pink or blue depending on if they thought we were having a boy or girl. Stephanie helped me make cupcakes with pink frosting inside and white frosting on top. All at once, all our friends bit into the cupcakes at once to find out that we were having a girl. I cant believe how hard it was to keep the secret for 6 days until we could announce it to them. As thank you gifts for coming, we made s'mores in a jars. They turned out really cute.

Well after finding out that we are having a girl we have started a little bit of shopping. My first purchase for the baby was also for Jim. I bought him his very own diaper bag so he doesnt have to carry around a pink bag.

We also went to Costco and laughed as we came out because our basket was filled. Filled with what you ask??? Diapers, wipies, a thermometer that goes across the forehead, water and dog food. Awwww how things have started to change already but we wouldnt change it for the world.

We have also been given lots of gifts for our Baby Girl already. My bff, Katie, gave us two boxes of the cutest dresses and outfits that are hand me downs and some stuff still have the tags on it. Katie's Aunt and Cousin gave me the cutest oufit and white shoes that have hand painted roses on them. I just love them. Jim's Mom gave us a an outfit, ballerina shoes and a matching hat that she bought years ago because she knew we would have a girl one day. And my co-worker gave me cowboy boots. Oh I cant wait to put her in them with a cute skirt... She is ready to go visit her Grandma, PawPaw and Uncle in texas with those babies on.

Introducing Baby Costello

On November 11, 2011 we recieved a call that we had been waiting 5 years for, "You're Pregnant". We were so thrilled and we had a hard time keeping it a secret. As of today, the Baby is 12 week and 3 days and is due July 22nd though my Mom swears it will be July 24th. Here are the ultrasound pictures from yesterday's appointment. It was so surreal to lay there and see he/she's profile, arms, hands, legs and the top of the skull. Enjoy!

Happy Veterans Day!!!

Happy Veterans Day to two very important guys in my life... my Dad and my older Brother, Danny.

Today is a day that reminds me of how thankful I am for those who have served our Country. Thank you to all that are serving or have served for our Country to give us freedom.

Like My Mother Does

Ever since I was little I have always been told that I look just my Mom. I would go to her work and she would take me around to introduce me to her co-workers and they would always say "Wow, she looks just like you.  I loved and still love hearing that even though I am sure sometimes in my teenage years, I would act like I didnt. One of my favorite pictures is my Mom holding me when I was a few weeks old.  You can't really see me since I am bundled up but you have to take a second look to see if its my Mom or me in the picture. The older I get I realize that not only do I look just like my Mom but I also say and do things just like my Mother does.  When someone says "10-4" to me, I always say "Rubber Duck"  Why you ask??  Because my Mom says it and it makes me laugh even if the peron I say it too has no clue what I am talking about.  When I question myself about something I am doing, I always think "What would my Mom do" and most of the times I try to do it like she would because she always takes the high road.  Ok, not always but I try.  :)  When I cry, she cries.  When we have to say goodbye at the airport, its always the same thing.  We both cant say a word because we are trying to keep our tears back but we both know without saying a word.   So we hug each other and walk away.  It's just how we do it and it makes me smile because we know.

I miss not having my Mom and Dad live around here.  I miss not being able to drop by just to say Hi or to pick up my Mom to go shopping unexpectantly.  I miss going to go to craft shows together or going on our weekend camping trip with Dad and Jim.

You can see it in their eyes,
in tender hugs and long good-byes,
a love that only moms and daughters know.

You can see it in their smiles,
through passing years and changing styles,
a friendship that continually seems to grow.

You can see it in their lives,
the joy each one of them derives,
in just knowing that the other one is there...

To care and to understand,
lend an ear or hold a hand,
and to celebrate the memories they share.

A Much Needed Vacation

Jim and I were asked to go to Lake Powell on a house boat for 5 days and we gladly excepted that invitation. Jim and I have never been to Lake Powell (that we remember) and we have never been on a houseboat (that we remember). We went with Aunt Lynne, Archie, Brandon and Jessica. Jenny and the boys, Ben and Levi, drove down from Oregon to enjoy in the fun.
On our way to Lake Powell, we stayed at Boulder Mountain Ranch in Boulder, Utah for two days before and two days after the houseboat trip. The Ranch is about 4 miles off the main highway and we had no cell phone reception. Did you hear me, NO CELL PHONE RECEPTION. Actually, I feel that I handled it pretty well and I survived. It's interesting to feel that you need to have your phone at all times and it was nice to not have it and not need it. The reanch had a large log cabin and mini cabins to stay in. The horses graised in the meadow and the are was so quiet you could hear the stream water running through the property.

While at Boulder Mountain Ranch, we went driving around looking for beautiful landscapes and adventures and we found them!

On Monday, we arrived to Lake Powell. We stayed at 3 different coves during the five days. Each night Aunt Lynne had a themed night. The first night was Luau, the second night was Bride and Groom for Brandon and Jessica. The third night was movie night and the 4th night was Baby night for Jim and I. (No, we are not pregnant, YET! hehehe...)

As for the rest of the trip, the pictures speak for its self. It is a vacation that we will always remember and love. We fished, floated on the rafts, rode on the Seadoos, went tubbing, made homemade ice cream, slept on the top of the house boat under the stars, caught frogs, cooked, swam, caught up on books and listens to music.

On our way back home, we stopped at Boulder Mountain Ranch for 2 days. While Jessica, Brandon and myself all decided to take a nap at the Ranch... Aunt Lynne, Archie and Jim drove to Hell's Back Bone which is a big accomplishment for Jim since he is afraid of heights.

Our vacation was ahhhhh-mazing and very much needed.
