When I got home from work today, I found a beautiful surprise on my bathroom counter....
I decided to try it again, I went to the eye doctor's to get measured for contacts. Normally, because my eye prescription is so bad, they have to special order the trial pairs but the Doctor was just as surprised as I was when he had the trial contacts available in his office. So, I am testing them out. Its been 3 years since I wore contacts so I have to get used to that feeling of something in my eye. I go back next week for a check up.
Thursday night was the opening game for the Adelanto Maverick's (minor league baseball). Jim and his work buddy's love to go on Thursday nights because it is "Thirsty Thursday" and they get beer for $2.00. Normally I do not go because they get a little too loud & roudy and they love to heckle the other team but I thought I would go for opening night. For Jim's birthday, part of his present was tickets to each Thursday night home game for the Maverick's.
So I buy my ticket and we head into the baseball park. We get our wrist bands to show that we are over 21 and we head to the beer vendor. The guys who sales the beer says to Jim " Hey, Buddy! Guess what we have this year?" and he proceeds to tell Jim about the new beer that they have that has orange flavor in it. I thought, wow this guy is a great salesman. Then the guy proceeds to ask Jim how he is doing? When Jim gets his beer the guys says, "Great to see you back again this year!" I started to laugh when I realized that Jim and his buddy's are known at the baseball park. That guy was not just try to sale the new beer. He was excited to tell Jim because he knew that Jim liked that brand of beer from all there "Thirsty Thurdays" last year. I think that might just confirm the reason why I dont go tot he games very oftend. The people who work the park know who Jim and his buddy's are. ha-ha.
It was a lot of fun but I was not prepared. The wind picked up and I was freezing. I needed my gloves and a blanket though I am not sure if that would have helped either. Seriously, it was cold!!! The game lasted longer than normal so at 10:00 we decided to head home and miss the fireworks at the end of the game or so we though. When we got home we looked out the sliding backdoor and watched the romantic fireworks from the dining room. It was great! I watched the fireworks which are my favorite and was toasty warm by then.
The night before Jim's birthday we were talking about how when we were young we thought that being in your 30's was old. Now that Jim's is 32 and I am coming up quickly on the BIG 30 it doesnt seem that old.
Birthday's are a big deal to me and I love to try to make birthday's special. I also love surprises and I am pretty good at keeping secrets. So the night before Jim's birthday I had put out his present and he hoovered around it trying to figure out what it was and then begged me all night to be able to open it. Of course, its not his birthday the night before so he would have to wait until his birthday. Besides, this isnt like Christmas Eve!!!
When I got home from work he opened his presents. He was being such a stinker. He didnt want me taking pictures because he had his glasses on so he made it a point to hid behind the cards and presents when he heard the camera beep. I was laughing the whole time and decided that I will post this pictures anyways. Ha-ha... that's what he gets.
